Chipotle Exposed
TELL CHIPOTLE to STOP HUMANEWASHING
HIDDEN CAMERAS EXPOSED
CHIPOTLE’S SHAME

In footage made public in early 2024, a Mercy For Animals investigator documented foreign material in meat at a Chipotle supplier. This was far from the worst thing they saw.
Footage shows Frankenchickens, birds bred to grow monstrously large unnaturally fast, experiencing the horrors of live-shackle slaughter. Some are conscious as their throats are slit.
Chipotle pledged to ban Frankenchickens and live-shackle slaughter by 2024 but has failed to fulfill their promise.

CHIPOTLE’S BETRAYAL
-
A BROKEN PROMISE
Chipotle pledged and failed to meet Better Chicken Commitment standards by 2024. According to Chipotle’s 2024 reporting, the company continues to source birds bred for unnatural growth and admits that 72% of their suppliers still use live-shackle slaughter.
-
HUMANEWASHING
Chipotle touts their commitment to transparency in their marketing materials and uses their animal welfare policies to present the company as one that does the right thing—while ignoring the most-pressing issues.
-
NEW CEO MUST ACT
Chipotle’s new CEO, Scott Boatwright, could lead the company into an era of accountability and transparency. Will Mr. Boatwright choose to do the right thing for chickens suffering in Chipotle’s supply chain?
CRUELTY CRITICS
IT’S TIME FOR CHIPOTLE TO DEMONSTRATE REAL TRANSPARENCY.
Call on Chipotle to fulfill their mission to cultivate a better world and live up to their promises of transparency and strong animal welfare.
Chipotle should publish a roadmap for implementing their overdue ban on the use of Frankenchickens and meet all Better Chicken Commitment standards.
